Well, we woke up Christmas eve morning to a full blown ice storm, with some snow thrown in for good measure which made for some terrible driving conditions. Our dog Molly doesn't mind that kind of weather but we switched to plan B because Grandma and Grandpa were unable to make the trip because the roads were extremely slippery.
Though we did miss Grandpa and Grandma, our Christmas eve was quiet, very fun and relaxing with the 5 of us together(our oldest son too). We have the tradition of opening a few gifts, and having yummy appetizers to eat.
Here is me with my sweet Gracie girl and Mr. Will sitting back and smiling at me...
The above collage shows a beautiful card Grace made for us, Grace hugging a stuffed doggy Nick had just given her and Will and Dan having some Daddy-son snuggle time.
I took the above one right before we left for church for Christmas eve service, which was wonderful for me because we hadn't attended one on Christmas eve in a couple of years. It was truly lovely.
Christmas day, Will woke up at 6:00am...he did manage to go back to sleep with some coaxing. Then Grace was up at 7:30am and they both raced down the stairs. We did capture them on video when they first saw what Santa left! Will's favorite gifts were Batmobile and Spiderman cars for his little figures, a Leapster, small trampoline, a Lightning McQueen racetrack and tent. Grace loved her art set, an American Girl doll, accessories, and tree house. But her favorite gift she told me was her camera (hmm....you think like mommy... like daughter!?)

Today(Saturday) my parents(aka Grandma and Grandpa) and my brother made the trip up from northern Illinois safe and sound. We had another day of great food, family time and more opening gifts.
Hope everyone's Christmas was wonderful!

Looks like a warm and lovely Christmas!! Such beautiful pictures. I am so glad you were able to spend time with your extended family and they arrived safe and sound. It is wonderful to have a white Christmas... but only a little so folks can travel!
I love your pre-church photograph. It just captures the spirit of Christmas.
Love all the photos! Sorry about the weather, but I'm glad y'all had such a lovely Christmas at home. Hope you had a good day with your parents today!
It looks like you had a great Christmas. Cute pictures!
Oh, lovely... despite the weather. And I love that Christmas Eve shot - we didn't go because it was too icy to drive. That's my favorite part of the holiday, so I had to fight off the disappointment.
Gail...just lovely!!! The picture of Grace and Will before church is stunning...just truly stunning...the kind of shot to take your breath away. We got Lia a camera too...and I am already wondering about the wisdom of that...she's a little, ahem, bossy, when she's packing...don't know where she gets that from...
Have a wonderful New Year!!!
Kate
Sounds like a perfect Christmas even with the nasty weather! Love your photos! And I do think that Miss Grace is a tad bit like her mother with that camera and artist studio! Fun times! Have a great week!
