4/52 - green

purple flower

To say that it's been cold here is such an understatement.
I know it's cold when it's minus 15 degrees during the day and I'm wishing
for a heat wave of
+ 20 degrees.
That's a 35 degree difference.
We only go outside when we have to...
school and running an essential errand or two.

This is the time of year where I want to see something green and growing.
Not just snow, ice and trees vacant of leaves
(pine trees don't count to me, even though they're green).

So this week's picture is a Primula.
I believe it's a variety of primrose.
I shot straight down on it because I wanted to see the darker purple flower
clearly and the rest in the background.
The green are leaves and the square tray the plant's sitting on.
I'm a little envious of those people who live in warm climates now. :)
And Spring is only 54 days away!

You know you can hop on a plane and escape for a few days anytime you want. :-)

You would never know from this picture that you were experiencing such cold temps. I love the angle you chose. The greens are so vibrant. Old man winter will soon be leaving your area. The signs of spring will be popping up all over the place in no time at all.

Hugs...
Grace

It's a gorgeous shot. I love the angle from above.

I promise not to complain about our weather today. We are entering a third or fourth week of continuous fog, with rare peeks of sunlight. Our low is around 39 degrees and our highs are around 55-60. We were so excited to get out of the dreariness this past weekend as we spent a blissful time in the sun and warmth of LA. Next weekend I head to San Diego, sunshine and photo opportunities!

May your spring come sooner.

We have always lived in NH so we have always had cold weather, but you are just like my husband-he always knows exactly how many days it is until February vacation. By then, regardless of whether or not we get more winter weather, winter is always on its way out-the snow is too soft for good snowmobiling and the maple syrup is running. It's also a shorter time to mark off than the beginning of spring. If you're like us, you get about a month of spring sometime in May/June. April showers are a joke since they never happen in April :-)
