My week 2 was taken of this very old barn
in pretty much the middle of nowhere south of where we live.
It's actually on the way to the apple orchard we go to in the Fall.
It's really a house with a barn attached and it's a large, imposing kind of a structure.
Grace and Will call it the 'scary barn.'
I don't think it's scary, just old with probably many stories.
I was thinking it would make a great backdrop or background for a portrait or pictures someday.
If I'd been ambitious I could have cloned out a few things in this image,
If I'd been ambitious I could have cloned out a few things in this image,
but instead was lazy and left them alone.
I like the color and texture of the wood and how it all contrasts with the snow.
It was snowing a little when I shot this.
Post processed with a Florabella action called Velvet and I added one of her vintage frames.
Happy Friday!

I definitely like the old barn, and wonder about its' history. It's a haunting image, maybe the kids are right? : )
Gail I like it just the way it is!
Beautifully done!
Blessings,
Jill
Love this shot and love the one photo a week as opposed to doing a photo a day...which I tried once and only made it to July. That's tough if you are not a photographer by trade.
Gorgeous!!!
really lovely!

This is a beautiful photo. I love old barns. We have lots of them in Maine. They tell stories.
I love the scary barn :) It looks similar to what you might find in the rural area I live in. I love how you processed it too.
It is beautiful Gail! I love the colors and texture - and the frame!
I'm excited to see what this year brings for your photography - you always inspire me :)

Gail, It's gorgeous! I could totally see Grace sitting on an old chair with a serious look and you getting one of your fabulous pictures of her in front of it!
Have a great weekend!
Beautiful -- i love it!!
Hope you have a fun and warm weekend! :)

I love old barns!! I can see the beauty in it, too!
Love this shot and the processing! Beautiful.
It's a gorgeous shot and the processing really enhances the mood.
I tried to start a 365 last year and didn't last a month. Even in that month, I did learn to be extremely creative and did some of my best work. Perhaps a 52 would be more my speed.
I look forward to the rest of your set.
Oh, if old wood could talk - what a story this old barn could tell. I love this shot!!
Have a great weekend!
