Tag...you're it!

I've been tagged by my friend Karen(mom to beautiful little Maggie), who I met in our December DTC 06 group. I'm supposed to list 7 random/weird/interesting facts about myself. Well believe me there are plenty of weird facts about me...just ask Dan and I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you a few. So here are my 7, or at least 7 I'll confess to.

1. I love, love, love to eat olives. Green olives, black olives, I crave them at times. My favorites are these really decadant green olives stuffed with blue cheese. That might sound gross to some people I suppose.

2. I get wicked bad headaches from perfume. I can only tolerate one that won't give me a headache and it's called 'Amazing Grace' and it's made by Philosophy.

3. I'm not exactly a domestic diva and though I like a clean house it's a chore I detest and am very fortunate to have a cleaning service come every 2 weeks. Hey, I'd just be happy if our bathrooms and floors were cleaned now and then. I do like to do laundry and especially fold it. Weird.

4. I worked as a Registered Nurse for over 17 years and have attended hundreds of deliveries of babies and resuscitated many a baby too. I worked in NICU's and PICU's. I also did helicopter transports of very sick infants when I lived in North Carolina. It was incredibly rewarding and stressful work and a true calling for me at one time of my life.

5. I very suddenly became a single mom in my mid 20's to my 10 month old infant son when my ex husband decided he was done being married(that's another story that I'd rather not talk about presently). I was a single mom until my son Nick was 4 years old. Then I married Dan. ;)

6. My maternal Great Grandfather was the mayor of Chicago.

7. As a child was identified as being gifted in art. I have taken many classes through school and private instruction. Though I loved art and seriously considered getting a degree in it, I also loved science and went to college initially to become a pharmacist and then switched to nursing. Go figure that one. I do still love to draw.

Now I'm supposed to tag 7 people, but since this is going around a lot right now let's just say you're tagged if you'd like to do this fun little meme. :)

Hi Gail,
I think this a very interesting post. I enjoy learning about others.

How cool that the only perfume you can wear is Amazing Grace. :)
I cannot wear perfumes either, due to headaches and etc.

Olives with blue cheese sounds kind of yummy to me actually.

What a wonderful career you had as a nurse, helping to bring life into the world. Neat!

If you ever get an urge to show us some of your artwork, we'd love to see it. :)

I second that on would love to see some of your artwork, Gail, if/when you'd like to share...and as for the perfume "coincidence" ...I really prefer to think of it as another "God-wink"...

Wow! Ok, sister from another mother, in addition to the qualities that you already found that we are similar on, there is also the fact that I am artistic (studied commercial art before I changed my major)and am not a domestic diva and thank my lucky stars for my cleaning lady that comes every 2 weeks :)

Huge hugs sis!

Oh I have never met another olive addict! I don't feel so alone!!! Also not a domestic goddess. Great blog and beautiful children.

I am also not one of the most domesticated people so thankfully my husband is a psycho clean freak and he takes charge of all the duties that accompany the title. Your nursing career sounds like it was both rewarding and challenging.

I love these question/answer tags. It is always nice to learn new things about friends.

Smiles! :o)
