black and white Wednesday - best friends forever

"If you're alone, I'll be your shadow. If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder.
If you want a hug, I'll be your pillow. If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile.
But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me."

"I like her because she smiles at me and means it."

BFF Diptych 1
(Local coffee shop that's within walking distance of our home. I loved the pink wrought iron tables and chairs.)

"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be."

BFF 5 blw WM

Lydia and Grace first met 5 years ago.
Grace was nearly 4 and Lydia was 3. The two hit it off from the start.
And they only live 2 houses away from each other!

BFF Diptych 2
Their friendship has been easy and it's been a joy for Lydia's mom
and I to see their friendship blossom
and flourish.
We are fortunate to live in a neighborhood with many children
and there are several other girls in the same age range.
They all get along extremely well.
It's no surprise that their mommas do too!
BFF Triptych
Lydia recently had a birthday and I took portraits of her, like I do every year.
These are some of the candids of the 2 best friends.
I brought them to our favorite local coffee shop to get ice cream for the girls,
and then to an old Mill (that's now a quilt store)
for more pics.
The girls had a blast (and so did I!)
The pictures show the fun they had together.

the long road

It's Wednesday again, hop on over to Lisa's "The Long Road to China"
to see what's going on, and lot's more photography.

Gosh those are beautiful! How lucky they are to live close to each other. I think it's so important for mom of friends to like each other.

Love these Gail! Looks like Grace has found a special friend. You can tell from your photos they have a close bond.

I'm a bit jealous you have an coffee/ice cream shop so close to your house. I would be going for walks every day! ;-)

Wow - beautiful girls! So glad they have such a great realationship! Mya met her best buddy when she was 3.5 and Jadalyn was 3 - when we moved into this neighborhood. I have watched them " fall in love" the last two years - it is so sweet! AND she lives just down the steet (Mya can see her house from her bedroom window!) it's just sweet so see how they click :)

These are such beautiful photos of Grace and her BFF! They tell such a story of two fun loving friends.

I am also now feeling like I want to go and get some ice cream in a giant waffle cone:) My kids always look forward to ice cream in the summertime. I just had the girls out this weekend for some, but it was melting faster than they could eat it. It was a mess, but they were in HEAVEN.
