Tomorrow is Feb. 3 which starts the year of the Rabbit.
I can just imagine what it's like in China right now, with all the preparation for this holiday.
Chinese New Year is so much more than firecrackers and lion dances.
Though I've never been in China during it's Spring Festival,
I've heard it's very much like Christmas is to us.
It's a time for families to gather, give gifts, eat and celebrate together.
We have our own family traditions of decorating for the holiday,
eating special foods,
and later in the month, a weekend get together with our beloved China travel group.
I also take pictures every year of my kids in their traditional Chinese clothes.
It's a way for us to look back and see how much they've grown.
This particular session turned into a giggle fest,
starting with the supreme giggler (Will) and then Grace had her turn.
We had lots of fun.

That picture of Grace is simply stunning. Along with the one of the two of them.
I would love to be in China right now. Lilah and I went to our local T&T supermarket last week and it really was in the spirit. It made me feel nostalgic, because we were in China in December '08 and shopped in the massive CNY markets. Ah, I love China.
Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family.

Simply BREATHTAKING....
Just because you have umpteen feet of snow all around your home, you still make the most of it and take amazing photos in your home studio. These are gorgeous Gail!
You know I'm not sure if I like the one of Grace in color or b&w better. Did you use an action on the b&w conversion? If so, which one. The tone of her face is magnificent.....85 mm or 50? :-)
Hugs...
GGGOOOOOOOOrgeous images Gail. Oh, how I love them all. The last blk and wh - just takes my breath away.
Happy CNY to you and yours. And have a wonderful celebration with your China group. Isn't it wonderful to have these connections?

Beautiful pictures! We were in China last year for the prep of the holiday and the mass exodus! It was an amazing time to be there and one I wont forget. I remember firecrackers going off ALL DAY and night long. I love your idea of doing pictures in traditional Chinese dress at this time. Might have to do that myself! Gung Hei Fat Choy!!
Gorgeous! Happy CNY !
