October's party

blog posts74

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

The party seems to have started.
Everyday we wake up it's even more glorious.
I've heard Autumn's peak for us will be around Oct. 21.
Leaves are changing and starting to fall.

And my kids are collecting them by the handful.
I did the same thing as a little girl.

All of these Fall 'treasures' as I call them, that won't be around too much longer.
Saturday we went to a park we hadn't been to in about a year.

We did a little nature walk and as they collected valuable acorn caps and clover.

I was looking up at the trees and particularly noticing the colors of the leaves.
And how the sun shines through and makes them glow.

It's all God's artistry at it's best, every bit of it.

Breathtaking Gail! You have captured the true essence of fall. Please keep them coming. All I see everyday when I awake are green palms and bright sunshine. No acorns on the ground around these parts. :-)

Hugs to you my friend....

Usually I'm more excited about kid pictures than anything else, but in this case, it's that TREE! I love fall colors so much, and you captured that love perfectly! If the temps ever go below 85 again, I may head out to a park and take a few of my own. :) Thanks for inspiring, as always!

Mmm....love this post Gail. What a great day you captured. We can just feel the briskness in the air and the colors are spectacular.

Yes, God's artistry for sure, but I'll bet he's pleased with the assistance you give Him.
:)

Enjoy the week!

Love it! Our God is so good to us, giving us such wonders to enjoy! I love them all, but that photo of the sun flare through the leaves is so inspiring!!! And the one of your kids from the shoulders down, Grace holding the leaves. Love your work, as usual! :)
