{waltz of the flowers}

"Just living is not enough," said the butterfly. "One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower." ~ Hans Christian Andersen

I have loved flowers for as long as I can remember, and as a child the first flowers I tried planting were sunflowers and nasturtiums. Every house we moved to, my parents had a garden and my Dad has taught me to love and appreciate roses. May I add he's more talented at growing them than I am!
Every year I try something new...I'm thinking of trying dahlias next.

I called this post, 'waltz of the flowers' because so many of them like my poppies, roses and peonies (that I don't have a current picture of) remind me of a dancer's skirt or dress. I have never found a flower than I didn't absolutely love...whether it's the shape and form, color, or scent... they always draw me in.
Some people don't like to photograph flowers, but not me. I love taking pictures of them.
Right now our garden is vibrant and lovely and I'm happy I can capture some of that.
These beautiful days of early Summer.

I love the flower pictures. They are Gorgeous! I once spent lots of time gardening at our home in Charlotte, NC. I had roses, cut flowers, herbs, etc. I have never made this home a home as I once thought it was temporary. I need to start planting here. Thanks for the inspiration.

Your flowers are so beautiful. You already know the love I too feel for them. It brings a smile to my face when I look out at the few that are blooming in my backyard. I so wish I had as many varieties as you. Our summers around here don't allow for many due to the harsh heat. So if you don't mind, could you continuing posting your little beauties so I can admire them from afar? Thank you... ;-) Happy Friday to you my friend!

Beautiful!

I too am an avid lover of roses, well all flowers really. I just finished watering everything and then spent 1/2 hour cutting my little heart out and now I have 3 vases full of beauty! Enjoy your weekend my friend!

Oh Gail....thank you for that. I just sat and drank in the color and beauty - those poppies.....oh....!!!!!

Are your roses blooming? Mine are a riot so early this year. At least a month early - peonies too are almost finished. Usually they're not full till mid-June at best!

You should try Dahlias. Easy and the bring so much color and fullness when we need it - especailly in August and Sept. We just need to lift the corms (tubers) and store them through the winter. You'll love them!!

Thanks for this sweet garden break!! Keep it coming.

I love this late spring time in my garden also. Everything is so fresh and vibrant.

When I look at these pictures I can almost see and feel the breeze flowing through the flowers. Fabulous as always!

I want to squeeze that Will.
