A very long week

The above photo I'm posting pretty much summarizes my week. Children's Tylenol. Children's Motrin. Omnicef. I was the administrator of those 3. All week long. A very long week. 2 sick kids now on the mend thankfully. Now mommy and daddy are getting sick but we're hoping it won't last long. I'm just happy last week is over and done and we're on to a new start. I had a thought the other day(sometime last week, those days have pretty much blurred together) that I hope I'm not sounding too negative about William and his transition. Though I believe William will be just fine eventually, I write what's happening in our family. When I think of the monumental changes and losses he's had and we've only been home now from China 3 weeks, he is progressing. Each day he's happy more than he's sad/angry. When he's angry he is very angry and we can't always tell why. Somehow we deal with it. Grace continues to have a hard time with it all and acts out particularly to me. I'm kind of concerned about Grace because it's getting worse. Our pediatrician says that this will pass and I'm not so sure of that. We are hangin in there and really taking it a day at a time. The top 2 photos are of our beautiful weekend here in southern WI and a picture of Grace at a happy moment.

Cat is still adjusting to Bennett, and he's been home... 10 months? She has good days and bad days, and so will Grace. It will all be worth it in the end, and you are doing a great job.

Don't get sick!!

I am sorry to hear that your babies have been sick...I hope that everyone at your home is healthy and happy very soon!
I can't give you any words of wisdom about Grace and Will, however, I can and do pray for all of you and your adjustment. I agree with the others that "this to shall pass" and you will all be on to better days in no time at all.
Praying for you, friend!

((HUGS)) Gail. I know oh' so well what you are going threw.

I will not tell you it will pass. I will not tell you it gets better.

Because i know deep down yo uknow that and in the deep of this stuff..it is hard to remember that.

What I will tell you is...I'm here for you. I'm just a phone call away - I'm just a suburb away. I know I've planned on taking Grace for the day and we can still do that. I knew that Will was sick and then Abi got sick so it didn't work out this weekend. I wish it would have.

Let's see how this week goes for both of us. I have Thursday off...YEAH...I HAVE THURSDAY OFF (and if I don't pass this *&^% test tmw..I have ALL WEEK OFF ..boohoo). Maybe we can get together Th. if you are not busy OR I could take Grace for the day...go to Kitt swimming or to the zoo. Think about it...I'll give you a call or email me.

As for Grace....Call M. She could give you some great ideas...really she can.

Love Ya, Gala

ps...I thought about calling you the other night before taking Abi into the Urgent Care - but it got late and I knew Will was sick and didn't want to bother you late.

OH Gail, I am so sorry both of your babies have been so sick! And now you and your hubby are not feeling well...I will be keeping all of you in my prayers!
Also I'll be continuing to pray for peaceful transitions for both Grace and William.
You are in my thoughts, sweet friend!

Oh man, two sick kids. That is tough. Glad they are on the mend.

Adjustment takes awhile. Heck I needed a year when I brought Loren home from China! And it was only her and I!

How about a day with just Mom and Grace? Maybe even out to lunch or a movie before school starts.
Just the girls.

Glad to hear there is healing in your home.
Stay well.

I do believe that you will get through this. William is having a hard time transitioning because he was very loved and well cared for. That very love will enable him to better bond with you and his new family. It will just take time. From what I have seen with other families, it usually takes 2 months for a child to become comfortable at home.
