"Happiness is a Summer breeze, sand between your toes, and your best
friend right beside you."

It's always our self we find in the sea."
~e.e. cummings
I call it beach therapy, for us also known
as our Summer vacation.
And the beach can be at the ocean, a lake or a bay.
I've had a love affair with being near water for most of my life,
so naturally my children would love water too.
These were taken two weeks ago while we were in Door County
enjoying some time together in the town of Ephraim.
I had great plans for taking even more photos that
would eventually be used for our Christmas
card but that didn't happen.
We came home a little bit early as our oldest son
was ill, thankfully
he's well now.
I have found that my favorite photos are the ones where I just sit back and observe what's going on.
So I'll let the rest of the images speak for themselves.
(Grace created this woven wreath herself with things she found
on the beach,
a twisty vine and leaves made a beautiful headpiece).

Beautiful photos! I love love love the water too!
I love your eye~ honestly... I wish I had started taking photos when Alexandra and Graham were Grace and Will's ages. These are just magical!
So happy Will is better!
You need a vacation, now!!!!
So magical Gail! Looks like you had fabulous weather to go along with a wonderful vacation. So glad to hear Nick is better now. I know it's so hard to be away when a child is sick. Doesn't matter the age... mom's make everything better. :-)
You're going to get your fill of the water very soon! CANNOT WAIT!!!
xoxo
I love the water too! It calms my soul!
All gorgeous shots! Makes me want to take another vacation!
These are just beautiful. I loved our time in MN, I was surprised by how gorgeous and calm it was. You captured not only the beauty but the feeling too. Amazing. Simply Amazing.
Beautiful -- love these! Glad your son is feeling better!
Wow, your photos are gorgeous. While I love smiles looking at the camera, I also love photos of real life. Great captures. I especially like the black and white silhouette of your kids.
Really really lovely!!!
Your daughter is breath taking!

I loved this post yesterday morning. I tried and tried to comment via my phone but I see that it never went through.
I am so glad you had a lovely vacation. I hope your son is feeling better soon. Sending love.
Love, love, love these beach pictures! You are such an amazing photographer and I especially love your collages!
Gail, you captured your vacation beautifully. No doubt these photos will be family keepsakes. And Grace and Will are growing up too fast.
I'm sorry to hear that your son got sick. That's certainly no fun on vacation. I'm glad that he's better, though.
